Money Q & A

This will be a new addition to the website; the chance to write in and get advice, ask questions, etc. – all the normal Agony Aunt type stuff, only about how to make money online. I plan to post these weekly or fortnightly depending on the response. For this post I will be using questions I have had asked of me recently, but if you want to ask your own question you can do so in the comment section. (If you don’t want your comment published, just say so somewhere in the text.)

I feel very positive about this whole thing, as I want to help motivate you and teach you to make money online; then one day when you are successful maybe you will pass this stuff on, or maybe you will just turn to a newbie and say; “Hey, go check out I Earn More Than You – it’s what got me started!” – let’s get going.

How come you don’t have any affiliate links on your blog? You talk about making money online with clickbank and affiliate marketing, but your blog doesn’t have any affiliate links.

I make up to $300 from affiliate marketing on auto pilot some days; I just don’t do it here – the reason is that this blog is honestly meant to help people, such as yourself, learn how to make money online. I don’t want to sell you anything and I don’t want this blog getting a reputation for being another affiliate website posing as a legitimate service. I keep my money making websites far away from this site because I’m not selling anything here, I’m just out to share what I know.

Is it really possible to make money online? Like do you have a normal job?

Hi Sarah,

Yes it is possible to work from home and be successful, and make money online to the point you do not need a normal job. This is all I do; in fact I have never had a “normal job” in all my life. Every cent that I have ever earned has been on the internet – so I know it’s possible. You just have to sink your teeth into it, bite down hard, and refuse to let go until you are successful. Persistence pays off – if you aren’t making any money online at all, I would recommend reading through some of the articles on this site and finding a free way to make money online and get cracking!

Hi Megan,

I get asked this all the time. I first made money online through a GPT and PTC website, I forget the name but it closed down a long time ago. I made $30, then I moved on to writing articles, where I averaged around $150 on a slow week, or up to $600 on a good week. Then I started at affiliate marketing, where I made $890 in three days and decided it was how I wanted to make money online.

Now I do a whole host of different things, which you can read about in various articles on the blog, as well as in future posts. If you haven’t made any money online yet consider trying GPTHQ – they launch at the end of this month and look a lot more promising than the GPT / PTC website I started out on.

Google Adsense

A lot of people wonder whether or not it’s really possible to make money online with zero investment, and I am here to tell you that it is, because Adsense makes it so.

Adsense is a free service Google provides; you put a few small ads on your page that are relevant to your content, and when someone clicks on one of them you get paid.

“But I don’t have a website!” I hear some of you lament.

No matter; both Wordpress and Blogspot will let you create a blog free of charge.

You can create multiple blogs and have Adsense on all of them; imagine 10 blogs each earning $5 a day with Adsense – you’d be making $50 each and every day.

I’m guessing at this stage you want advice on how to start making money right now – and I am going to give you just that; this is my step by step newbie guide to $5 a day.

Here we go;

1. Pick a topic you can write a lot about, like cars, music, a particular celebrity or even just a favorite TV show.

2. Head over to Blogspot or Wordpress and create a free blog; be sure to give it a name relevant to your chosen topic.

3. Either write your own content, or pay others for their articles.

4. Sign up for Adsense and add it to your page.

5. Get word out about your blog by posting in some forums, contributing to Yahoo Answers or by commenting on others blogs – never EVER spam.

That’s all you have to do to start earning money online with Adsense – however there are a few things you should know to help you make the most of it;

* Whether it’s forums, other peoples’ blogs or Yahoo Answers, don’t spam anyone, and put a lot of thought into your comments. Make them unique and helpful.

* Use plenty of keywords in your posts, but don’t force them in there; you need to write in a natural way that people feel comfortable reading. No keywords is always better than a flood of them where they don’t belong – that can actually hurt your ranking.

* Submit your blog to Google, Yahoo, DMOZ and Blog Catalogues to make it easier for people to find you.

* When uploading images give them proper names; don’t call a picture of a pear “img123″, call it “pear” or “green_pear” – people will be more likely to find you using Google Images this way.

* Update regularly so that people will want to come back time and time again.
